My Training & Certification

In today’s dynamic business environment, leaders face constant disruption and are challenged to devise new strategies to accelerate growth and build high-performing teams. As remote working arrangements become increasingly prevalent, the need to cultivate and inspire highly engaged teams has never been more critical.

My experience as a C-Suite leader, Business School professor, and Independent Board Director, gives me a deep understanding of the challenges facing today’s leaders. With a shared appreciation of their business and organizational challenges, I build a foundation of trust that enables me to provide constructive feedback and insights to enhance the self-awareness of my clients. This adaptive learning process empowers them to embrace new behaviors, thought processes and skills to become more effective leaders.

My executive coaching is informed by over 100 hours of training and supervision in the Co-Active Coaching curriculum from the Coaches Training Institute (CTI), a program accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). I also integrate research and learning from various professional development programs, including:

– Stanford University’s executive certification program in Leveraging Diversity and Inclusion for Organizational Excellence.

– Brené Brown’s (author of “Dare To Lead”) “Living Brave – Courage Works” online curriculum

– Shirzad Chamine’s online training to move leaders from self-sabotage to self-mastery, based on his New York Times best-selling book, “Positive Intelligence“.

As a graduate of the Coaches Training Institute (CTI), a program accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF), I adhere to the ethical standards set forth by these professional institutions. When partnering with clients, I employ the CTI co-active model as the foundation of our partnership.

My Personal Story

Raised in a bustling household of seven children by first-generation Irish parents, Peter’s curiosity for learning and gritty work ethic were instilled at an early age. His lively childhood fostered a collaborative spirit and advocacy for inclusiveness that Peter has championed throughout his professional career.

Peter married his hometown sweetheart and the family they created remains his greatest joy. He takes immense pride in watching the continual growth of his adult children (daughter and son) as they navigate their own professional paths.

During college he worked as a bartender in Dublin, and to this day he continues to take pride in pouring a Guinness “perfect pint”. Early in his career as the marketing director for a range of kitchen appliances, Peter managed the PBS sponsorship of Julia Child’s renown cooking program. He enjoyed personal time and learned many lessons from Julia and her colleague Jacques Pépin over several years of working together. Despite his time with these culinary legends, Peter continues to claim mac and cheese from the box as his “signature” dish.

More recently, Peter and his wife enjoyed an extended hike across Northern Spain on the El Camino Trail (Pamplona to Santiago de Compostela).
